OBJECT LOGIC PUZZLE

You see seven objects in a catalog, but you cannot tell what the objects are made out of. Fortunately, the mischievous merchant selling the objects has given you enough clues to figure out how dense each object is. Use the table and the clues below to help you figure out which is which.

Production note: the values need to be tweaked to (1) make all values unique; and (2) to match actual materials as in the materials table.

There are seven objects: a duck, an elephant, a fish, a frog, a rabbit, a tiger, and a whale.
  2. Each object has a different mass: 12g, 12g, 42g, 16g, 138g, 150g, and 152g
  3. Each object has a different volume: 4cm3, 4cm3, 14cm3, 34cm3, 130cm3, 200cm3, and 304 cubic centimeters
  4. The density of water is 1.0. If the tiger were placed in water, it would float. If the duck were placed in water, it would sink.
  5. The density of aluminum is 2.7 . The frog is more dense than aluminum.
  6. One has a volume of 14 cubic cm and a density of 3 .
  7. The whale has a greater mass than the fish.
  8. One object has a volume of 4 cubic cm and a density of 3.
  9. The rabbit has a volume of 200 cubic cm and a density of 0.75 .
  10. The volume of the rabbit is not 34 cubic cm and it is also not 304 cubic cm.
  11. One object has a volume of 34 cubic cm and a density of 1.412 .
  12. The volume of the tiger is not 200 cubic cm and it is also not 4 cubic cm.
  13. The volume of the fish is not 304 cubic cm and it is also not 200 cubic cm.
  14. The fish has a volume of 4 cubic cm and a mass of 12 g.
  15. The whale has a mass of 48 g and a volume of 34 cubic cm.
  16. The elephant has a volume of 4 cubic cm and a density of 4 .
  17. The volume of the frog is not 130 cubic cm and it is also not 200 cubic cm.
  18. The rabbit has a greater mass than the frog.
  19. The duck has a volume of 130 cubic cm and a density of 1.062 .
